The first Australian ICM+ workshop is going to take place on the 11th of August prior to the Australasian Traumatic Brain Injury Collaborative: Acute Care Symposium at the Monash University.
The symposium focuses on the latest traumatic brain injury (TBI) research and future clinical priorities across pre-hospital, emergency, intensive care, and neurosurgery fields. It emphasizes multi-disciplinary collaboration and integrating lived experiences into care models.
This inaugural event will bring together pre-hospital clinicians, critical care clinicians, neurosurgeons and researchers. Leading experts will discuss the latest evidence and future priorities to patient care.
Tailored workshops will provide in-depth discussion and training for attendees.
This half-day ICM+ workshop will take place at 12pm – 5:30 PM 30 Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia ( View map )
The session will give the participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with all the aspects of high quality waveform level data collection, integration and interpretation in the neuro-ICU settings. It will also take the attendees on a clinical research methodology journey in an attempt to demystify the pathway of scientific discovery and validation in the context of high resolution neuromonitoring, with a particular focus on traumatic brain injury.
Programme will follow the well exercised plan, which guides the attendees through a series of clinically relevant tasks/questions and allow them to address them based on a sample set of data provided.
The workshop will start with a data collection part, where the finer details of all the issues still existing within the high resolution data acquisition in intensive care and discuss optimal ways of tackling those problems in order to power robust, monitoring based, clinical decision making and facilitate high quality research.
This will be followed by research tools exercises and discussions.
As usual, all level of skills and familiarity with ICM+ are welcome, and will be appropriately catered for.
